The State of Qatar welcomed Wednesday the announcement by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) that it will close its 2014 complaint against Qatar. Qatar's Government Communication office said in a statement today that the announcement was an acknowledgement of the important steps the government of Qatar has taken to develop a modern labor system that is fair to employers and employees alike.

HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani blamed the siege countries for the dissolution of the GCC as a collective security system.

HE State Minister for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi said that the GCC crisis showed there was a conspiracy against the modern state model the State of Qatar is following and worked for since the 90s. He stressed that Qatari diplomacy is dealing with an unprecedented crisis in the history of the GCC and the region.

The State of Qatar has said that it attaches great importance to the digitization of the old United Nations documents for over 70 years, considering that the United Nations is the only international organization that maintains all documents and records on issues of international peace and security as well as economic development and law, international humanitarian affairs, education, health and other important documents for all States and peoples.

HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani affirmed that the State of Qatar has called for dialogue as a solution to crises and that the Gulf crisis was emerged without any basis. HE the Minister expressed his hope that wisdom will prevail one day and that the countries will come to the dialogue table again.

HE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met Sunday with HE Michele Alliot-Marie, Member of the European Parliament and chairperson of the EU delegation for relations with the Arab Peninsula.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlined that the State of Qatar highly appreciates what HH Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said in his speech at the opening of the session of the Kuwaiti National Assembly regarding the Gulf crisis.

HE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met here today with HE US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson ,during his visit to Doha.

The State of Qatar has underlined that it attaches great importance to avoiding the humanitarian consequences of the existence and use of nuclear weapons, stressing the continuation of its national, regional and international efforts to achieve this goal.

The United Nations General Assembly, at its 72nd Session has re-elected the State of Qatar to the United Nations Human Rights Council by 155 votes for the State of Qatar from 193 votes and for a fourth round of three-year term for 2018-2020.
