Citizen Services

Qatari citizens abroad can apply for new passport in case of Passport  expired or damaged.

    Beneficiaries of this service:

Citizens sent for treatment or study abroad, as for nationals residing outside the State, prior consent is required.

    Service Procedures:

The expired or damaged passport will be sent by official post of the consular administration, then the mission receives a new passport together with the old passport and hand them over to the citizen.

Terms and requirements:

  • The form for a new passport is filled in and signed by the concerned person, or their legal guardian if they were underage, the form should be also stamped by the mission and signed from an executive consular.
  • Attach the original passport.
  • Attach (2) personal photos with grey background, photo size should be ( 4.8X 3.5 ).

Service fees:

28 USD for expired passports

110 USD for damaged/lost passports

A passage permit can be issued to Qatari citizens to return to Qatar if they lost their passports.

Beneficiaries of this service:

Qatari citizens abroad.

      Service Procedures:

  • The Qatari mission abroad addresses the department of Nationality and Passports in the Ministry of Interior, after receiving the reply, a passage permit will be issued with an approval reference.
  • Passage permits are valid for three months from the date of issuance.
  • Passage permits are valid for only one entry to the State of Qatar.

       Terms and requirements:

  • Inform about the passport loss at the nearest police station abroad.
  • Copy of the passport or identity card showing the national number.
  • (2) Personal photos.

Service fees:

14 USD Dollars

Passage permit for newly-born Qatari babies who were born abroad.

      Beneficiaries of this service:

            Qatari citizen’s newly-born babies.

      Service Procedures:

  • The Qatari mission abroad addresses the Department of Nationality and Passports in the Ministry of Interior, after receiving the reply, a passage permit will be issued with an approval reference.
  • Passage permits are valid for three months from the date of issuance.
  • Passage permits are valid for only one entry and to the State of Qatar only.

    Terms and requirements:

  • Copy of the passport or identity card of the parents showing the ID number.
  • Copy of the birth certificate attested by the official authorities and by the Mission.
  • (2) Personal photos.

Service fees:

14 USD Dollars

The mission of the State of Qatar can issue a general or private authorization.

 Beneficiaries of the service:

Qatari citizens living abroad permanently or temporarily.

Service Procedures:

  • Requires the citizen to attend personally to the consular official.
  • Print the information of the authorization on mission’s headed-paper.

Terms and requirements:

  • An authorization application is to be submitted to the Head of Mission after ensuring the validity of the information and that the applicant is in a normal state of mind.
  • Elderly people and persons with special needs are exempted from appearing before the mission, instead the mission itself will visit them to complete procedures.
  • A copy of the passport or identity card showing the ID number should be attached with the application.

Service fees:

The certificate “To Whom It May Concern” can be issued to Qatari citizens.

      Beneficiaries of the service:

Qatari citizens abroad, travelling for study or medical  treatment or other purposes. 

      Service Procedures:

The Qatari citizen fills in an application requesting the issuance of such certificate, addressed to the Head of Mission stating the reasons for residing outside the country.

      Terms and requirements::

  • A copy of the passport or identity card showing the ID number.
  • Provide a prove for residing outside the country, in case of travelling for medical treatment or study.

Service fees:

6 USD Dollars

Transporting dead bodies of Qatari citizens back to the State of Qatar.

Beneficiaries of this service:

Deceased Qatari citizens outside the State of Qatar.

 Service Procedures:

  • Relative of the deceased should notify the mission of the State of Qatar on the death of the citizen.
  • The mission (medical attaché) will take necessary actions to transport the body to the State of Qatar.
  • Original passport and validated documents relating to his death should be submitted to the mission.
  • Notify the Department of Consular Affairs about the date and time of sending the body to make arrangement with the airport.

Terms and requirements:

  • The mission is to send by mail documents related to the deceased consisting of:
  • A copy of the passport.
  • A copy of the death certificate.
  • A copy of the post-mortem report (and any other documents).
For the issuance of replacement of lost Diplomatic / Private / Mission Passports, the fee is 840 USD.

Visas

Beneficiaries of this service:  Official delegations

Service Description:

The Service provides an official visa for official delegations, except for those, who are exempted from visas, to meet with officials from the Amiri Diwan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and officials from ministries, governmental bodies and institutions, or to attend conferences held by the ministries, governmental bodies and institutions. 

Terms and requirements:

  • Submit visa application form attaching all required data.
  • Provide passport valid for at least six months.
  • Two personal photos of the applicant.
  • The visa is valid for three months from the date of issuance, the visa holder should enter the country before the end of the validity period.
  • The visa holder can stay in the country for a period of one month from the date of entry.
  • This visa can be extended for a similar non-specified period.

Beneficiaries of this service: Businessmen and known commercial figures.

Service Description:

The Service provides a business visa for businessmen who are members of the British Arab chamber of commerce and known commercial figures, to visit Qatar to improve investment relations between their countries and the State of Qatar. 

Terms and requirements:

  • Businessmen should submit a paper proving their status of businessmen unless they are commercial figures known to the Head of the Mission or the Consular official.
  • Submit visa application form attaching all required data.
  • Provide passport valid for at least six months.
  • Two personal photos of the applicant.
  • The visa is valid for three months from the date of issuance, the visa holder should enter the country before the end of the validity period.
  • The visa holder can stay in the country for a period of one month from the date of entry.
  • This visa can be extended for a similar period, up to three months maximum.

Business Visa fee:

Beneficiaries of this service: Tourists

Service Description:

The service provides a touristic visa to those who want to visit the country for touristic purposes such as exploring its monuments of historic, economical, architectural, cultural and social values. 

Terms and requirements:

  • Applicants should provide a bank statement for the previous three months, showing a minimum balance of (5 000) five thousand Qatari Riyals, financially capable applicants known by the Head of the Mission or Consular official are exempted from this term.
  • It is recommended to have a hotel reservation in the state of Qatar in a five or four star hotel.
  • Submit visa application form attaching all required data.
  • Provide passport valid for at least six months.
  • Two personal photos of the applicant.
  • The visa is valid for three months from the date of issuance, the visa holder should enter the country before the end of the validity period.
  • The visa holder can stay in the country for a period of one month from the date of entry.
  • This visa cannot be extended.

Touristic Visa fee:

Beneficiaries of this service: GCC residents

Service Description:

The Service provides the GCC residents with approved professions a GCC Resident Visa to enter the State of Qatar. 

Terms and requirements:

  • Submit visa application form attaching all required data.
  • Provide passport valid for at least six months.
  • Two personal photos of the applicant.
  • Applicants should provide a copy of Gulf country residentship valid for six months (three months is also acceptable).
  • The visa is issued for all nationalities immediately after data entry in the automated system.
  • The visa is valid for three months from the date of issuance, the visa holder should enter the country before the end of the validity period.
  • The visa holder can stay in the country for a period of one month from the date of entry.
  • This visa can be extended for a period of three months.

Visa fee for GCC residents:

Beneficiaries of this service: Maids, drivers, baby-sitters, tutors and the like.

Service Description:

The Service provides an entry visa for the GCC citizens who want to visit the country with their companions such as maids, drivers and the like.

Terms and requirements:

  • Submit visa application form attaching all required data.
  • Provide passport valid for at least six months.
  • Two personal photos of the applicant.
  • Applicants should provide a copy of Gulf country residentship valid for six months (three months is also acceptable) for the companions of GCC citizens such as maids, drivers and the like (under the sponsorship of the Gulf citizen) .
  • The visa is issued for all nationalities immediately after data entry in the automated system.
  • The visa is valid for three months from the date of issuance, the visa holder should enter the country before the end of the validity period.
  • The visa holder can stay in the country for a period of one month from the date of entry.
  • This visa can be extended for a similar period, up to three months maximum.

Visa fee for companions of GCC countries:

Beneficiaries of this service: Travelers who don’t transit directly to the State of Qatar.

Service Description:

This service provides transit visa valid for 2 days for travelers who don’t transit directly to the State of Qatar.

Terms and requirements:

  • This visa doesn’t apply for travelers passing through Qatar (these passing through travelers don’t require a prior entry visa), and they will be allowed to enter the country with a commitment from the airlines company if their transit time is more than six hours until their departure to the intended destination according to the flights schedule planned in advance.
  • The visa is issued for all nationalities immediately after data entry in the automated system.
  • Submit visa application form attaching all required data.
  • Provide passport valid for at least six months.
  • Two personal photos of the applicant.
  • The visa is valid for one month from the date of issuance, the visa holder should enter the country before the end of the validity period.
  • The visa holder can stay in the country for a period of two days from the date of entry.
  • This visa cannot be extended.

Service Description:

This service provides citizens of the 33 approved countries with a joint tourist visa to enter the State of Qatar first and then visit Oman in case of need.

Terms and requirements:

  • Applicants should provide a bank statement for the previous three months, showing a minimum balance of (5 000) five thousand Qatari Riyals, financially capable applicants known by the Head of the mission or Consular official are exempted from this term. The visa is issued for the citizens from the 33 countries (immediately) after data entry in the automated system.
  • Submit visa application form attaching all required data.
  • Provide passport valid for at least six months.
  • Two personal photos of the applicant.
  • The visa is valid for one month from the date of issuance, the visa holder should enter the country before the end of the validity period.
  • The visa holder can stay in the country for a period of one month from the date of entry.
  • This visa cannot be extended.

Joint Tourist Visa fee:

Service Description:

This service aims giving visit visa for entering the State of Qatar to all nationalities except citizens of the states of Gulf Cooperation Council.

Terms and requirements:

  • Submit visa application form attaching all required data.
  • Provide passport valid for at least six months.
  • Two personal photos of the applicant.
  • The visa is issued for all nationalities except Gulf Cooperation Council citizens.
  • The visa is valid for three months from the date of issuance, the visa holder should enter the country before the end of the validity period.
  • The visa holder can stay in the country for a period of one month from the date of entry.
  • This visa can be extended for a similar period, up to six months maximum.

Service Description:

The service aims giving the individuals who previously obtained electronic visa through the General Directorate of Nationality, Borders and Expatriate Affairs visa to enter the country.

Terms and requirements:

  • Some individuals who previously obtained an electronic visa issued by the General Directorate of Nationality, Borders and Expatriate Affairs have to visit Qatari Embassies and consulates abroad for stamping the visa in their passports.
  • Submit visa application form attaching all required data.
  • Provide passport valid for at least six months.
  • Two personal photos of the applicant.
  • Re-issuance of official visa is exempted.

Visa Re-issuance fee:

Georgian citizens who hold the regular passports can issue an Immediate Tourist Visa from Qatar's airport or from their nearest diplomatic mission.

Conditions and requirements for obtaining the immediate tourist visa at the airport:
  •  The Immediate Tourist Visa is valid for one month.
  • The visitor must submit a passport that's valid for at least six months.
  • The visitor must have a booked return ticket.
  • The visitor must have a hotel reservation and a cash equivalent of 1500 USD or a credit card.
  • The fee of the immediate tourist visa is (100) QR.

Attestation

Beneficiaries of This service: Citizens, residents, business, investors and visitors.

Service Description:

The  service aims to provide a legal approval of the commercial documents to be used in and outside Qatar, documents such as:

  • Certificate of origin.
  • Packing List (Manifesto) .
  • Commercial contracts.
  • Invoices.

Terms and requirements:

The Department of Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or one of its ratify the stamp or Signature of the chamber of commerce or any other ministry or authority approved by the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Embassy of the state of Qatar in Tbilisi legalize documents issued from  Georgia.

All documents has to go through a certain procedure before it is submitted to the embassy and any document doesn't satisfy specific requirements will be denied by the Embassy of the state of Qatar.

  • 3Commercial documents issued in Georgia:

    For example: certificate of origin, invoices, packing list, bill of lading, etc.

    All these documents have to be stamped from  Georgian Chamber of Commerce and submitted to the embassy.

  • 3Non-commercial documents issued in Georgia:

For example: marriage or birth certificates, educational certificate, police clearance certificate, passport or ID photocopy, etc.

All these documents have to be stamped (apostil) by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

Foreigners in Qatar

Qatar’s Diplomatic and Consulate missions abroad receive applications of concern to previous residents who left Qatar permanently, through coordination with the directorate of consular affairs.

Beneficiaries of this service:

Previous residents who left Qatar permanently. 

Service Description:

Qatar’s Diplomatic and Consulate missions abroad will send the application to the directorate of consular affairs, which in turn 'll send it to the concerned department (Traffic department under Ministry of interior), and sends the reply to the mission after receiving it.

Terms and requirements:

  • Send a clear copy of the driving license to the directorate of consular affairs

An application to validate educational certificates issued in Qatar to residents who graduated from schools or universities of Qatar, in order to use these certificates for studies or work in other countries .

Previous residents who left Qatar permanently. 

Service Description:

Qatar’s Diplomatic and Consulate missions abroad will send the application to the directorate of consular affairs, which in turn 'll send it to the concerned department (supreme educational council or the concerned university), and sends the reply to the mission after receiving it.

Terms and requirements:

  • Copy of the educational certificate

Service fees:
Exempted

Requested by previous residents in Qatar to be used in their own affairs.

Beneficiaries of this service:

Previous residents who left Qatar permanently. 

Service Description:

Qatar’s Diplomatic and Consulate missions abroad will send the application to the directorate of consular affairs, which in turn  'll send it to the concerned department (Criminal Evidences and Information Department), and sends the reply to the mission after receiving it.

Terms and requirements:

  • A letter stating the reason of requesting this certificate, and the period of residency in Qatar.
  • An original copy of the fingerprints form issued by the security authorities, and attested by the mission.
  • Copy of the passport including the residency sticker, and a copy of the new passport (if applicable).
  • Four personal photos (5X4)
