Qatar-Georgia Relations


  • The official diplomatic relations between the State of Qatar and Georgia were established on March 16, 1993. Georgia at that time had three diplomatic missions in the Arab World.
  • The Embassy of Georgia in the State of Qatar was opened in November 2012, H.E. Ms. Ekaterine Mikadze was appointed as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, now this position is filled with H.E. Mr. Nikoloz Revazishvili.
  • The State of Qatar is represented by H.E. Mr. Mubarak Bin Nasser Al-Khalifa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
  • The number of residents of the Georgian community in Doha is 122.
  • The Georgian government has given a big priority to the development of friendly and fruitful bilateral relations with the State of Qatar and the rest of the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
  • Georgia is working on attracting Qatari investments into the country, as well as opening the market to its products and benefiting from the prestige of the State of Qatar in the international arena.
  • A number of high level official visits between the officials of the two countries were held, during which ways to develop relations, that serve the interests of two nations were discussed and a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding for cooperation in several spheres were signed.
