Qatar Takes Over Presidency of Asian Cooperation Dialogue for 2019

The State of Qatar today took over the presidency of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) for 2019. Qatar affirmed that it will work on the objective of Asian consensus and cooperation and the development of the inter-Asian working mechanisms as a priority during its presidency of the dialogue, adding that it will encourage efforts to deepen trade and economic partnerships and promote the economic competitiveness of the countries of Asia.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met today separately with HE United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Counter-Terrorism Vladimir Voronkov, HE UN Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock and HE the Director of the International Crisis Group Robert Malley.






Qatar: Unilateral Procedures Such As Siege Lead to Gross Violations of Human Rights

The State of Qatar said that the illegal use of unilateral procedures by certain countries and imposing siege in contravention of the Charter of the United Nations and international law, such as the siege imposed by the neighboring countries on Qatar, aims to undermine international order and leaves serious violations of human rights, wondering how the use of unilateral coercive measures in international relations would undermine a democratic and equitable international order.


Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Meets UNRWA Commissioner-General

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi met here on Tuesday with HE Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Pierre Krahenbuhl, on the sideline of the 150th session of the Arab League Ministerial Council.
