The State of Qatar has affirmed that the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, especially in the areas of health, agriculture, industry and the environment, are a strategic bet and part of its plan for comprehensive economic and social development within the Qatar National Vision 2030, as it has adopted appropriate legislation to enhance the safety and security of radioactive materials and is cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to enhance the Agency's efforts in the field of nuclear security and safety.

The State of Qatar participated in the meetings of the 43rd session of the annual Governing Council meeting of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), held under the theme "Investing in sustainable food systems to end hunger by 2030", from Feb. 11 to 14 at the headquarters of the Council in Rome.

The United Nations praised the role of the State of Qatar and its support for the launch of the global program to secure major sporting events and to harness sport as a tool to combat terrorism.

The State of Qatar took part in the Open-Ended Extraordinary Executive Committee Meeting at the level of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to discuss the OIC position towards the US peace plan.

HE President of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly Tijjani Muhammad appointed HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, and HE Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations Ambassador Anna Karin Enestrom to facilitate and lead international negotiations for an agreement on a statement of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.

The State of Qatar will participate in the 8th meeting of the Permanent Representatives to the League of Arab States and the EU Political and Security Committee, which will begin Thursday in Brussels.

The State of Qatar renewed its call to settle the crisis with the blockading countries peacefully through constructive and unconditional dialogue, which preserves the sovereignty of states within the framework of the United Nations Charter, international law and the principles of friendly relations between countries.
